One Hundred Iterations
This project was based on creating an illustration that represent the concept of “Digital Media” through the eyes of a client (another student). My client, JP Karwacki, gave me his vision on digital media as follows:

Digital media are any media that are encoded in machine-readable formats (Wikipedia, 2014). and in order to understand how machines connect with each other, the design should emphasis the important role of machine language in digital media.
At the beginning, I tried to search the internet on how machines communicate. I found that binary code is the foundation of machine language. So, I decided to use the phrase (digital age) as the main component of my design. then, I looked up for binary character table which gave me a tool to switch between alphabet and binary code. after that, I replaced part of 'Digital Media' letters with their parallel from binary code.

The client was satisfied with the result, however I proposed another solution because I learnt from the first attempt and I wanted to reflect this experience on a new design instantly.

In my second attempt, I used the letter D only to represent the digital media and instead of filling the letter with a color. I filled the letter with a binary code pattern. To establish a link between these two components, I used a magnifier to draw the audience attention to the importance of how a sequence of binary numbers could form a letter (which is kind of digital media).
